Leaving a Legacy: Did you know you can determine how you will live and finish your life? It’s called leaving a legacy, and in Acts 20:17-24, the Apostle Paul shows us how to do it. 1. Get over yourself — it’s all about others. 2. The finish line — live everyday like it’s your last. 3. Purpose — your purpose is to glorify God no matter what your calling in life is. 4. Perseverance — leaving a legacy is hard and takes work. May God help you to leave the very best legacy possible.
Leaving a Legacy, Part 2: There are four important components to leaving a legacy. 1. Be faithful. Don’t let anything that God has called you to do to go undone. 2. Guard your heart. Pay attention to yourself that you not be led astray by false teaching. 3. Commend others to Christ. Love them, teach them, but let the Lord do His work in them. 4. Be givers. Don’t expect to be taken care of, but always look to take care of others.
What Is God Saying To You? Doing the will of God is the most important thing you can do in your life. Here are three keys to remember: 1. You must do God’s will no matter what — even if it hurts. 2. You are the only one who knows God’s will for you — don’t let anyone talk you out of it. 3. The greatest thing you can do for someone else is to encourage him or her to do God’s will.
You Have A Story? Telling your story is the greatest witness for Christ you can have. Telling your story contains three main ingredients: 1. What you life was like before Christ. 2. How you met Christ. 3. What your life has been like since you met Christ. The great thing about telling your story is that you can tell it anywhere. So, never be afraid to tell your story!
Hannah: Pain, Privilege, Praise Hannah is one of the most honored mothers in the Bible. She knew the pain of barrenness and cried to God in her anguish. She experienced the privilege of his answered prayer — the child He gave her. And she praised God for the miraculous work He did in her. Hannah is the perfect example of the Christians mother
Paul Appears Before the Council Acts 23:1-11 Just as Paul confronted difficult times during his travels to Jerusalem, we too are confronted with times of suffering. In Acts 23:11, Jesus spoke to Paul in a vision, saying “take courage.” While we all individually go through our own “Jerusalem” points in our life, we can be reminded God brought us to this time. He knows these days and He has a plan.
What Do You Do With Truth? Each of us handles truth differently. The Apostle Paul presented the truth and his faith in Christ Jesus in Acts 23-26. The responses he received varied from anger and alarm to procrastination. Have you considered how you respond when God calls you in obedience and truth?
Mark 14:3-9 Jesus said a woman was to be remembered for her overwhelming expression of love when she anointed Him. She went beyond the customary and poured out all she had. And on Memorial Day, we remember and honor the men and women that served and died for our country, paying the ultimate price. Have you considered how you are going to be remembered?
Setting Sail for Rome While Paul was literally traveling to Rome in Acts 27, Rome for us is a place God wants to take us or people God wants us to impact. It is a journey and the voyage can be rough, but followers of Jesus do hard things. Anything worth doing for God will come with resistance, but He is sure to provide us with resources to get us there.
Have Faith During the Storm Paul came upon a terrible storm on his way to Rome. God’s promise to Paul was to stay with the ship and survive the storm because those that abandoned the ship would perish. God never promised there would be an absence of storms, just that Paul would get to Rome. Stay with the ship God called you to and don’t walk away from it, even during the storm. God does not say how He will bring it to pass, just that He will be faithful to do so!
